Occupational therapy is a healthcare profession that helps people live independent, productive and satisfying lives through the therapeutic use of meaningful activities. In other words, occupational therapists assist their clients in doing the things they want and need to do, such as getting dressed, preparing a meal or driving a car. People may see an occupational therapist to improve safety and independence following an illness or injury.

Occupational therapists work with individuals of all ages and abilities in a variety of settings, including hospitals, schools and clients' homes. Their interventions may include adapting home environments, educating clients and teaching new ways of completing tasks.

If you would like to learn more, we invite you to join the Occupational Therapy Program’s faculty and staff for an information session and tour of the St. Mary’s Medical Education Center. Current students will also be available to share their experiences and answer your questions.

This event is designed to run in conjunction with Mesa Experience. You can register for Mesa Experience at coloradomesa.edu/visit.
